LINDSEY WOODS WATER LILY: International water lily of the year 2008. Is an intensely deep purple and lavender flower with beautifully mottled leaves. Excellent bloomer, wonderful fragrance.

There is a story behind this Water Lily. The Nelson’s of Nelson Water Gardens & Nursery in Texas, chose to commemorate the life of one friend & cancer victim by giving this water lily the 14 year old girls name: Lindsey Woods. Lindsey Woods died April 21, 1999 from cancer and the following year, Nelsons introduced ‘Lindsey Woods ‘contributing a portion from the sale of every plant to the Texas Children’s Hospital. They have donated over $60,000 as of Jan 2012.
