Lei Making

About Lei Making

Lei making has been a part of ancient Hawaiian History for decades.  Both men and women wore lei made of many different materials such as flowers, foliage, shells, bones and feathers.  The lei has become a symbol of Hawaii as an expression of Aloha, love or friendship.  The lei can be worn on the head as a "haku" or around the neck or as anklets or bracelets.

Sharon's Plants has many floral and foliage plants to offer to the lei making society.  Below are plants often used in traditional lei making that are in our nursery.
